Young Leadership (YL) is a division of UIA for young adults aged 18-34, dedicated to supporting the global UIA initiative. As part of an international network, the goals of YL are:
- To bring resources and awareness to the common goal of rescuing Jews in need.
- To facilitate the rescue of Jews in need from around the world, their Aliyah, and absorption into Israeli society.
- To provide a forum for young leaders to train for future communal leadership, thereby maintaining a strong Jewish future.
- To ensure Jewish continuity through education.
YL is made up of two groups:
- Young Leadership (for ages 23-34)
- Young UIA (for ages 18-22)
YL holds annual fundraising events in the month of March. These events are the largest of their type in Australia for young Jewish people. They are a powerful demonstration of support for being Jewish and solidarity with Israel.
YL is part of the International YL network. This network is a union of young Jewish adults who have joined together across the globe to achieve a common goal. This is unprecedented in the history of the Jewish people. Countries represented in this network include:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Norway, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
"…after understanding the importance of Keren Hayesod-UIA in the building of the State of Israel and in supplying its human needs, we are convinced that the role young leaders are fulfilling today and in the future is vital and central in the effort of Keren Hayesod-UIA for the continuity of Israel and the Jewish People." - International Young Leadership Declaration of Intentions
