Our guest speaker was Eli Yerushalmi, Deputy Chief of Mission (Deputy Ambassador) of the Embassy of Israel in Canberra. He has held this position since 2006 and updated us on the present political situation in Israel and Israels relations with the Diaspora.
Eli has represented Israel serving at Missions in London, Canada, Texas and Egypt. Before taking up his position in Canberra, he was Director in the Department for Jewish Communities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.
