The Projects Division was established in the mid 1960’s
and serves to promote the priorities of the UIA and the Jewish Agency for
Israel.
The Projects Division helps engage donors directly by marketing the activities
of the Jewish Agency and creates a personalised relationship in our life-saving
work. A project can be dedicated in the name of the donor or the donor’s
family or friends.
Over the past 50 years, the Projects Division has initiated and developed
thousands of projects around the country that have contributed immeasurably
to the quality of life of Israel’s citizens, both veteran and new immigrants.
They include:
- 255 Medical Clinics and Hospitals
- 134 Sports Centres
- 23 Libraries and Art Centres
- 10 Music Centres
- 48 Synagogues and Spiritual Centres
- 14 Absorption Centres
By adopting a project in Israel, individual donors have the opportunity
to designate their funds for a specific purpose. Millions of Israelis have
already benefited through UIA sponsored projects, but much work remains to
be done.
A donor can undertake one of a large range of projects involving newcomers,
children-at-risk, students, senior citizens, disabled persons, education
or medical, and become an active partner in the development of a just society
in Israel.
Examples of Projects:
- Sports Facilities, such as swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis
courts…
- Computer Rooms
- Research Facilities
- Rehabilitation Centres– hydrotherapy pools…
- Community Halls
- Scholarships – school, university
- School Facilities, such as classrooms, laboratories, playgrounds,
theatres, assembly halls, music rooms
